The Division of Social Sciences at UC Santa Barbara resonates with the interests and pursuits of more than 6,500 undergraduate and 400 graduate students, housed in 12 academic departments. Our scholars immerse themselves in the human experience, taking an interdisciplinary approach to bold and rigorous social analysis. They seek to understand and unravel the complexities of identity, society, politics, and culture while embracing the future as champions for social justice and leaders of a more compassionate and connected world.
